Complaint against Yathish Chandra for touching elephant at Aanayoottu ceremony

The Heritage Animal Task Force has registered a complaint against Thrissur city police commissioner Yathish Chandra for violating rules. During the elephant parading by touching it during Aanayoottu ceremony held at Vadakkumnathan temple. The complaint was filed as citing a violation of the rule in the circular.

At the event, Yathish Chandra carried his son on his shoulders and both have touched an elephant. Photograph of the moment has gone viral on social media.

As per the circular of state forest and wildlife department declared on March 20, 2013, it is mandatory that the public should keep three metres distance from elephants. Nobody except the mahouts should touch the elephant.
