From May 8, The CoWin portal is introducing a new feature of a four-digit security code. This will minimise data entry errors of vaccination status and will subsequently reduce the inconvenience caused to citizens.
It has found citizens who had booked a slot for covid-19 Cowin vaccination through the portal but could not go for the vaccination on the scheduled date marked that a vaccine dose is administered. To minimize such errors and inconvenience, the new feature will ask the beneficiary about the code and will also be present in the confirmation SMS after booking an appointment.
The ministry advised the beneficiary to carry the appointment slip (digital/physical) copy for appointment confirmation to complete the vaccination record process to the drive centre.
