How a teacher’s encouragement to her student grew into a celebrated mimic

Anugrah an 11-year-old boy was seen as a troublemaker by his previous teacher in the school. As he would imitate the sounds of various animals and birds. His mother Soumya then moved him to S N School at Irinjalakkuda.

Even at SN school, Anugrah continued to create various sounds of animals and birds in the class. However, at his new school his teacher N S Sumitha encouraged his talent rather than a compulsive issue. This helped him to transform him to be a teen mimics.

N S Sumitha is also the coordinator of Malayalam Manorama’s ‘Nalla Padam’ project. Anurag’s talent was soon received greater appreciation. He achieved A grade in the sub-district youth festival without any practice. Soon after winning the prize, he has performed at various television shows and other stages. The school management and other teachers encourage his talent for mimics and drawing.
