Pawan Kalyan Sworn in as Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Minister Under TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu

Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan took oath as one of Andhra Pradesh’s cabinet ministers in a significant political development. The Janasena Party chief was elected the leader of the Legislative party following a major electoral victory by the NDA alliance in the state elections. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Chandrababu Naidu assumed the role of Chief Minister.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising the TDP, Janasena Party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured a landslide win in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, capturing 164 out of 175 seats. The TDP emerged as the dominant force with 135 seats, while the Janasena Party and BJP won 21 and 8 seats, respectively. Pawan Kalyan, who triumphed from the Pithapuram constituency, is expected to be appointed as the deputy chief minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing an NDA meeting at the Central Hall of the Old Parliament, lauded Kalyan for his remarkable performance in the elections, referring to him as a powerful force. The Janasena Party’s alliance with TDP proved instrumental in their electoral success, leading to Kalyan’s pivotal role in Naidu’s cabinet.
