Priyanka Chopra, known for her outspokenness, has recently discussed various issues in her interviews, including equal pay, gender disparity, bullying in Bollywood, marriage, and motherhood. In a recent interview with The Zoe Report, while talking about her experience on the set of the movie Love Again, she mentioned working with actors who had “diva moments.” Priyanka expressed her appreciation for actors who come prepared and are professional.
When asked if she had encountered such diva behavior herself, she acknowledged that she had worked with male co-stars who would halt filming for hours, arrive late, or have demanding moments, causing delays for the entire crew.
Furthermore, Priyanka Chopra revealed an incident from her early career in Bollywood during 2002-03. She shared that while shooting a scene where her character seduces a guy, the director insisted on seeing her in underwear, claiming it was necessary for the movie’s appeal. Priyanka found this request dehumanizing and demeaning, as the director made the comment to the stylist in her presence. Feeling objectified and disrespected, she decided to walk out of the film and even repaid the production for the expenses incurred.
These revelations about her experiences in Bollywood began in March when Priyanka Chopra mentioned on Dax Shepard’s podcast that she felt cornered in the industry, leading her to pursue opportunities in Hollywood. She also hinted at having conflicts with certain individuals that affected her work.
Despite these challenges, Priyanka Chopra is set to make her Bollywood comeback in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
