Sonakshi Sinha Marries Zaheer Iqbal in Intimate Ceremony

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a private civil ceremony at her new apartment, 81 Aureate, in Mumbai on Sunday. The couple shared dreamy pictures from their wedding, where Sonakshi looked stunning in a white saree, adorned with minimal makeup, jewellery, and flowers in her hair. Zaheer complemented her in a white kurta. The heartfelt moment was captured with Zaheer kissing Sonakshi’s hand and a picture with her father, Shatrughan Sinha, as Zaheer signed the marriage papers.

Sonakshi and Zaheer announced their marriage through a joint social media post. In the caption, Sonakshi reminisced about their seven-year journey, celebrating love and commitment. “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife,” she wrote. The couple registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act.

The ceremony was attended by close family and friends, including Sonakshi’s BFF Huma Qureshi, Aditi Rao Hydari, and her fiancé Siddharth, among others. Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, expressed his joy, saying, “Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union stay strong forever).” The celebrations will continue with a reception at a Mumbai restaurant owned by Shilpa Shetty, marking the final leg of the wedding festivities.
