9-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Sacrilege In Punjab: Cops
According to authorities, a nine-year-old child was detained on Friday after allegedly desecrating a religious text in a village.
On October 5, granthi of the gurdwara in the village of Bishanpur Tarsem Singh found several torn pages of the Guru Granth Sahib, according to Mukerian Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulwinder Singh Virk.
The police official claimed that he immediately alerted Gurdwara Committee President Amarjit Singh about it and that CCTV footage showed a youngster shredding the pages.The child was presented to a juvenile court, which ordered him to go to a nearby “bal sudhar ghar.” The DSP stated that more investigation is being conducted.
