At their son’s engagement, Nita and Mukesh Ambani lead a family flash mob
In order to celebrate Anant Ambani’s engagement to Radhika Merchant, the daughter of businessman Viren Merchant, the Ambani family performed a dance performance yesterday. In a customary ceremony held on Thursday at Antilia, the Ambani family’s renowned Mumbai residence, Anant, the youngest son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, was engaged to Ms. Merchant.
Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani performed the dance, with their older son Akash Ambani, his wife Shloka Mehta, and their daughter Isha Ambani and her husband Anand Piramal on either side of them.
They danced to a song called “Wah Wah Ramji” that was altered to include the names of the newlyweds and taken from the film “Hum Apke Hain Kaun.”
The couple’s impending nuptials were first publicised by the Ambani and Merchant families in 2019. Anant Ambani wore blue attire, while Ms. Merchant chose a golden lehenga for the event.
“Age-old traditions such as the Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi – followed for generations among Gujarati Hindu families – were conducted with great enthusiasm in the family temple,” the Ambanis said in a statement.
