Attack on Delhi CM’s residence: Petition seeking independent probe

Demand for an independent probe into the attack on the home of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. The petition was filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a special panel to probe the case. The petition was filed by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj.

Arvind Kejriwal’s residence was attacked yesterday. The house was attacked by BJP activists. Arvind Kejriwal’s comments about the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ have sparked a political debate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several prominent BJP leaders have praised the film, which is based on the flight of Kashmiri Pandits three decades ago this remark was the reason for attack. The assailants poured paint on the gate and tried to break through the gate. The attackers also smashed the CCTV camera outside the gate.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has accused the Delhi Police of plotting to assassinate Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sisodia also accused the BJP of plotting to assassinate Kejriwal after his defeat in Punjab. Delhi Police said the attackers had broken the barricade and action would be taken against the culprits.
