BJP Counters Rahul Gandhi’s Accusations, Alleges Insult to Hindus

In a heated parliamentary session, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, responded vigorously to Rahul Gandhi’s impassioned speech. The Congress MP, now Leader of the Opposition, accused the BJP and its ideological ally RSS of not representing all Hindus and fostering violence against minorities. Displaying images of religious figures, Gandhi asserted that true Hindus do not propagate fear and hatred unlike the BJP, drawing strong rebuke from PM Modi who defended Hindu society against blanket accusations of violence. The exchange highlighted deep ideological divisions and accusations of disrespect towards Hindu sentiments in Parliament.

Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in Parliament, alleging that he insulted Hindus by linking them to violence. Modi, citing constitutional respect, countered Gandhi’s claims, asserting that accusing the entire Hindu community of violence is unacceptable. Shah went further, demanding an apology from Gandhi for his divisive remarks, invoking historical events like the Emergency and anti-Sikh riots to underscore Congress’ alleged failures. The session, marred by uproar and jeers, underscored the heightened political tensions and ideological confrontations gripping India’s parliamentary debates.

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge led opposition protests against BJP president JP Nadda over issues including NEET irregularities and statue relocations within Parliament. Kharge’s accusations of stifled dissent and limited speaking opportunities intensified the already tense atmosphere, reflecting broader opposition discontent with parliamentary procedures under BJP rule. The session highlighted ongoing challenges to parliamentary decorum and opposition grievances, signaling prolonged political friction as both sides entrenched their positions on contentious national issues.
