BJP Leader Criticizes Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Over Support for Fraudulent NEET-UG Aspirant
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Jai Hind has sharply criticized Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her support of Ayushi Patel, a NEET-UG aspirant whose claims of a torn OMR answer sheet were deemed fraudulent by the Allahabad High Court. The court revealed that Patel had submitted forged documents, allowing the National Testing Agency (NTA) to pursue legal action against her. Jai Hind questioned whether Priyanka Vadra should face consequences for amplifying what he called “lies” and urged the media to hold her accountable.
Ayushi Patel’s petition alleged that the NTA informed her that her result would not be disclosed due to a damaged OMR sheet, a claim she further promoted through a viral social media video shared by Vadra. Patel demanded a manual evaluation of her sheet and an inquiry into the NTA’s practices. However, after NTA submitted the original OMR sheet and an affidavit, the court found that Patel’s claims were based on falsified evidence, leading to the dismissal of her petition.
In the aftermath, the NTA decided to take legal action against Patel. The NEET-UG 2024 examination itself has faced scrutiny due to allegations of paper leaks and the contentious awarding of grace marks. The Supreme Court has been informed of the Centre’s decision to revoke these grace marks and the possibility of conducting a retest, amidst ongoing demands for a comprehensive investigation into the examination process.
