Delhi CM Kejriwal Instructs MLAs to Address Water Crisis from Tihar Jail

Delhi Water Minister Atishi announced on Wednesday that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently detained in Tihar jail, has directed all MLAs to address the ongoing water shortage in the capital. Atishi shared that during her visit to the CM, Kejriwal emphasized the need for immediate action to improve water and electricity supply across Delhi.

The city is experiencing a severe water crisis due to reduced Yamuna River levels and technical problems at major water treatment plants. Many areas are left with minimal water supply, forcing residents to depend on tankers and borewells. The Delhi government has appealed to Haryana for additional water resources to alleviate the situation.

In response to the crisis, Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has instructed Delhi Police to patrol the Munak canal to prevent water theft, targeting tanker mafia activities. Minister Atishi has also been inspecting pipelines in South Delhi as part of efforts to ensure adequate water distribution amid the worsening shortage.
