Gonda YouTuber Booked for Defamatory Video on IAS Officer Kinjal Singh’s Family

A YouTuber from Gonda has been booked for allegedly posting a defamatory video about the deceased parents of IAS officer Kinjal Singh. The complaint, lodged by Singh, a 2008-batch officer currently serving as the Director General of the Medical Education department, led to an FIR being registered at the Gomti Nagar police station against the YouTube channel ‘Usmaan Saifi Safar’, which has 3.33 million subscribers.

According to Station House Officer Deepak Pandey, the FIR was filed under Section 501 of the IPC and Section 66 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008. Singh alleged that Usman Saifi, also known as Usman Ali, posted a 12-minute and 30-second video on June 20 discussing the murder of her father K.P. Singh, and the subsequent hardships faced by her mother and sisters. The video, which has garnered over 3.35 lakh views, was described by Singh as misleading, false, and defamatory.

Singh claimed the video was made without her family’s consent and contained fabricated information intended to tarnish her parents’ character. She expressed distress over the video’s impact, mentioning that it had caused severe mental pressure and damage to her reputation, with the video still being shared across social media platforms.
