High-Level Inquiry Ordered into Ulhasnagar Firing Incident Involving BJP MLA and Shiv Sena Leader

In a shocking turn of events in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a high-level inquiry into a firing incident that saw Kalyan MLA Ganpat Gaikwad of the BJP open fire on Mahesh Gaikwad, the Shiv Sena chief of Kalyan, inside a police station over a land dispute. The incident, which took place on Friday night in the Thane district, has prompted serious concern, with Fadnavis emphasizing the gravity of the situation and asserting that everyone is equal before the law, regardless of political affiliations.

The inquiry, directed by Fadnavis, aims to uncover the circumstances and motivations behind MLA Ganpat Gaikwad’s actions, with the Deputy Chief Minister ensuring that the rule of law is upheld. State BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule has stated that the party will take appropriate action against Gaikwad should he be found guilty, highlighting the party’s commitment to justice and accountability.

Before his arrest, Gaikwad defended his actions in an interview, claiming he resorted to using a firearm in response to his son being attacked by the Sena leader’s men at the police station. He also accused Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of fostering a “kingdom of criminals” in Maharashtra, further complicating the political landscape in the state. This incident has not only raised concerns about political violence but also about the broader implications for governance and law and order in Maharashtra.
