Indian electorate likely to offer PM Modi a second chance: Pre-Poll Survey

It cannot be said that this survey is conclusive in its character. At the end of the day, it is up to the people to decide who should be allowed to be their voice in the lawmaking body of their country.

The latest pre-poll survey conducted by the CSDS-Lokniti has revealed that the Indian electorate might allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enter the corridor of power again.

The survey has predicted that the National Democratic Alliance could cross the simple majority margin, though it might not perform as well as how it performed during the last General Election (in which the main party of the NDA BJP singlehandedly crossed the simple majority march with much easiness).

The survey has also forecasted that in the upcoming election the Congress might considerably increase its seat share from less than 50 to more than 70.

As per the survey, the regional parties like BSP and TMC will showcase impressive performance. Interestingly, the survey indicates that the BSP will benefit more from the SP-BSP alliance in the UP than the SP.

If the things develop in the way the survey has predicted, the four strong parties in the future parliament will be the BJP, Congress, BSP and the TMC.

Actually, the survey gives boost to the NDA camp while it offers disappointment to the UPA camp. To the regional parties, the survey is neither impressive nor disappointing.

Notably, the survey has clearly noted that this time the NDA would not get the benefit of the pro-Saffron wave. The survey has indentified that the regional factors would play an important role in this election.

According to the survey, the NDA will dominate in all regions in the country (expect the South) in the upcoming General Election. Yet, in the states like Kerala and Karnataka, as per the survey, the BJP will deliver an astounding performance.

It cannot be said that this survey is conclusive in its character. At the end of the day, it is up to the people to decide who should be allowed to be their voice in the lawmaking body of their country.
