Kamal makes a slight correction in his controversial terrorist remark

Few days after his Hindu terrorist remark faced serious backlashes as many political leaders came out strongly against the controversial remark, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has corrected his comment from “the free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu” to “every religion has its own terrorists”.

The actor recently founded a political organisation, named the “Makkal Needhi Maiam”. Unlike the political organisation floated by another actor-turned-politician Rajini Kanth, his political party is contesting in the present Lok Sabha election and the by-elections across the state.

The MNM at present is not a strong political organisation. As always, still the Tamil Nadu politics is largely dominated by two powerful Dravidian parties DMK and AIADMK.

Unlike the previous election, in this election, the DMK has a slight edge over its arch rival AIADMK, which is ruling the state at present.

In the state, the national parties such as the Congress and the BJP have a significant presence. In this election, the Congress supports the DMK and the BJP backs the AIADMK.

Recently, BJP’s Bhopla candidate Pragya Singh Thakur made a provocative statement against the MNM chief’s remark about Hindu terrorism.

She even refused to pull back his comment and to say apology, even if she was asked to do so by her party.
