Kangana Ranaut claims she had to turn down Khan and Kumar-led films in order to make female-centric films

Kangana Ranaut revealed on Friday that she had to turn down many “big hero films” in order to work on “female-centric films.” She was speaking in Mumbai at the premiere of the trailer for her upcoming action thriller Dhaakad.

“In so many ways, the audience is also ready for women to take the lead,” Kangana said. Another factor is that I’ve had my share of low points when I’ve turned down a lot of male-centric films, such as Khan-led or Kumar-led films, and other big hero movies.”

Kangana Ranaut is one of Hindi cinema’s most successful female protagonists. While the actor admitted that she didn’t plan for her success, she did have a vision for it.”When you have a vision for the future, they ask what’s wrong with her because this is the best time of her life,” Kangana explained. ‘What are you doing?’ they ask. This is the most exciting period of your life. Why are you refusing to see these movies? Why aren’t you attending award ceremonies? Why are you opposed to fashion magazines? ‘What are you doing with your life?’ I’m not sure why they think I’m squandering my life. What makes them think I’ve come this far? Do they believe it’s a coincidence? It was because I had always believed that I, too, deserved as much as anyone else, and that there was no reason for me to regard myself as a lesser being.

This (pointing to the Dhaakad poster) has always been a vision of mine. This day may come. Of course, I had no idea what was going to happen, but I had a vision. I won’t be able to complete it on my own. You’ll need someone like Razneesh Ghai (director) or Deepak Mukut and Sohail Maklai (producers). I believe that for a woman’s journey to be successful, she needs the support of a large number of men. As a result, it’s a mash-up of various factors. I won’t say it was completely unintentional. I can’t even claim credit for making it happen. “I had a vision, and a lot of things fell into place.”

“Heroines in Hindi films do not get that opportunity,” Kangana Ranaut said when asked about her favourite Hindi action heroine. “Of course, they’ve been great,” Kangana said when reminded that veteran female stars like Rekha and Hema Malini have also done action films. They were incredible in their time. It is because of them that we are doing what we are doing today. They’ve paved the way for us to follow. They have paved the way for females. They have bestowed upon us the privileges that we enjoy today as leading ladies. Now it’s up to us to carry it forward for the next generation and raise the bar so that we don’t just get the perks of leading ladies, but also the perks of being a hero on set.”

Many female actors in Bollywood have expressed dissatisfaction with their pay. Kangana Ranaut, on the other hand, stated that she is satisfied with her pay and is proud to say that she is not underpaid.
