Karnataka High Court Dismisses Plea Against Probe into CM’s Daughter’s Firm

In a significant development, the Karnataka High Court has dismissed a petition by Exalogic Solutions, a firm owned by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena T, challenging an investigation by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO). This probe into the company’s financial dealings has garnered widespread attention, with political parties in Kerala reacting strongly. The Congress and BJP in the state have welcomed the court’s decision, suggesting the investigation is warranted and dismissing claims of political motivation behind the probe.
The court’s dismissal of the petition highlights concerns over financial transactions involving Exalogic Solutions. Allegations have been raised about the firm receiving substantial sums from companies without delivering any services. Union Ministers and political leaders have expressed support for the investigation, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability in financial dealings, especially those linked to individuals in public office.
This development follows controversy over payments made to Veena’s firm by Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL), with allegations of financial irregularities and payments made without any service provision. The SFIO’s ongoing investigation into this matter, alongside similar probes into other entities, underscores the scrutiny of financial transactions involving public figures and their associates in Kerala.
