“Kejriwal Ko Aashirwad”: Sunita Kejriwal Launches WhatsApp Campaign for AAP Leader

In a heartfelt video message on Friday, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, unveiled a new WhatsApp campaign titled “Kejriwal Ko Aashirwad”. She invited people to send their blessings and prayers to her husband, who is currently in custody, via a shared WhatsApp number. This announcement was made a day after Arvind Kejriwal’s appearance at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court, where his Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody was extended until April 1. Sunita, who was present during the court proceedings, expressed concern over her husband’s deteriorating health and alleged harassment, emphasizing her belief in the people’s eventual response to what she termed as tyranny.

During his court appearance, Arvind Kejriwal vehemently argued against the motives attributed to the ED, accusing it of attempting to dismantle his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Despite facing personal health challenges, Kejriwal asserted his readiness for investigation and questioned the basis of his arrest by pointing out the disproportionate emphasis on him in the massive volumes of documentation and numerous witness testimonies gathered in the case. His statements highlighted a staunch refusal to bow under pressure, despite the legal hurdles placed in his way.

The campaign “Kejriwal Ko Aashirwad” not only serves as a platform for supporters to express their solidarity but also sheds light on the complex legal battle faced by Kejriwal. With thousands of pages of documentation and extensive witness examinations cited by the authorities, the court has deemed further interrogation necessary, thereby extending his ED custody. The unfolding events paint a picture of a political struggle, underscored by personal and judicial challenges, at the heart of India’s capital.
