Maoists Target BJP Leader Ahead of Chhattisgarh Polls

In a tragic turn of events just three days before the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh, Maoist insurgents have struck a deadly blow, claiming the life of Ratan Dubey, Vice-President of the BJP’s Narayanpur district unit. Dubey was actively engaged in election campaigning when he was attacked and killed by the insurgents on Saturday in the Kaushalnar area of the district. He was also the representative of the area in the zilla panchayat, making his loss deeply felt within the community and the political arena.

A senior police official has confirmed the incident and reported that a dedicated team has been dispatched to the site to thoroughly investigate the murder. The incident casts a shadow over the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, scheduled in two phases on November 7 and 17. Narayanpur is one of the 20 Assembly seats where polls are set to take place on November 7, and the tragic assassination of Ratan Dubey highlights the challenges and risks associated with the electoral process in this region.
