PM Modi Criticizes Kerala Government Over Cooperative Bank Scam During Thrissur Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during a public rally in Thrissur, accusing him of lying about the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam that involves alleged corruption by CPI(M) leaders. Addressing the crowd, PM Modi claimed that while the Kerala CM remained inactive, the Union government took decisive action, with the Enforcement Directorate attaching Rs 90 crore in assets. The Prime Minister assured depositors of recovering their funds, referencing previous government efforts that returned Rs 17,000 crore to victims of various scams.

During his speech, PM Modi criticized both the Left and the Congress for what he described as their roles in stagnating the state’s progress and engaging in corruption. He specifically targeted the INDIA bloc, accusing them of unity in Delhi while competing in Kerala. The Prime Minister urged the electorate to support the BJP, promising that their votes would contribute to safeguarding their financial interests. He also highlighted widespread issues in approximately 80 CPI(M) controlled cooperative banks and alleged significant asset accumulation by local CPI(M) leaders.

The rally concluded with PM Modi advocating for strong local representation from the BJP in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the need for political change to address corruption and poor governance. His visit, marked by significant local support and accompanied by key NDA candidates and new BJP members from Kerala, underscores the BJP’s focused campaign efforts in the state.
