Series of Blasts occur at Firework Manufacturing Unit in Tamil Nadu
In a series of blasts at a fireworks manufacturing unit, eight people died and more than 20 others suffered injuries. The fireworks manufacturing unit is located at Achankulam near Sattur in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu.
The accident happened at around 1.45pm. Blasts went on for a long time , making it difficult for the rescue teams to get close to the spot, news agency ANI reported on Friday, 12 February. Those killed are said to be workers of the factory.
According to reports, fire service personnel are presently at the spot and are trying to extinguish the fire.
