SIT Issues Helpline Amid Sexual Harassment Probe Against Prajwal Revanna

In response to serious allegations of sexual harassment against Prajwal Revanna, MP for Hassan, and his father HD Revanna, the Government of Karnataka has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT has launched a dedicated helpline (6360938947) to assist victims in coming forward with complaints. This initiative follows a string of accusations including a claim that nearly 3,000 obscene videos are circulating in Hassan district. The helpline promises anonymity to those who report the offenses.

The investigation has intensified after recent developments where a woman from Mysuru, allegedly abducted by HD Revanna’s aide, was rescued by SIT officials. In addition to the sexual harassment case, a kidnapping charge has been filed against the MLA, adding to the gravity of the situation. The political fallout includes Prajwal Revanna fleeing the country, prompting the issuance of a blue-corner notice after he fails to respond to prior notices.

The scandal has caught national attention, prompting Karnataka’s CM Siddaramaiah to call upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic status to restrict his international travel. Amidst mounting pressure, the accused MP is expected to surrender to the police at Bengaluru airport early next week, as local and national authorities continue to unravel the extent of these allegations.
