Sri Lankan Cricketer Sripali Weerakkody announces her retirement from international cricket

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday reported that Sripali Weerakkody has chosen to resign from international cricket.

“Sri Lanka lady cricketer Sripali Weerakkody has chosen to resign from global cricket with quick impact. She has authoritatively educated her expectation to Sri Lanka Cricket,” SLC said in an announcement. The 34-year-old represented Sri Lanka in 89 ODI internationals and 58 T20 internationals.

“I have chosen to retire one or the other day. So I feel this is the perfect time for me. The choice to resign was an individual choice,” SLC’s legitimate site cited Weerakkody as saying.
