Suspect in Salman Khan’s Home Shooting Arrested, Linked to Notorious Gang

Mumbai police have arrested Vishal, also known as Kalu, a suspect allegedly involved in the recent shooting outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai. Vishal, who is said to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was apprehended after being identified from CCTV footage of the incident. The shooting, which involved five rounds fired at Khan’s Bandra home early Sunday, was later claimed by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, through a Facebook post.

Vishal, previously arrested for motorbike theft in 2020, has a criminal history that includes armed robbery and snatching, according to police records. His initial arrest occurred in North Delhi’s Maurice Nagar during a vehicle check. After serving time in Tihar Jail, Vishal reportedly met associates of Rohit Godara, another gang leader, and shifted his allegiances to their group. This gang is also linked to the murder of a Gurgaon-based bookie in March this year, an act for which Godara claimed responsibility.

The ongoing investigation aims to unravel the full scope of the conspiracy against Salman Khan, as well as the connections between Vishal, the Bishnoi gang, and other criminal elements. Officials mentioned that Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated, had previously expressed his opposition to D-company and Dawood Ibrahim, indicating a complex web of gang rivalries and criminal alliances in the region.
