Tragedy Strikes Hathras: 27 Dead in Stampede at Religious Gathering

In a tragic turn of events, a religious gathering in Hathras district turned fatal as a stampede claimed the lives of 27 people, including three children and 23 women. The incident occurred following the conclusion of a religious event organized by the Manav Mangal Milan Sadbhavna Samagam Committee to honor Lord Shiva. Reports suggest that overcrowding led to the stampede as attendees attempted to exit through a narrow passage after the event.

Chief Medical Officer Rajkumar Aggarwal confirmed the grim toll, stating, “We have received 27 bodies at the Etah Hospital. The injured are yet to arrive, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased.” Eyewitnesses recounted scenes of chaos as panic spread among the large crowd, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has swiftly responded to the incident, directing senior officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure proper medical care for the injured. He dispatched a team led by the Director General of Police and senior ministers to oversee rescue operations and investigate the cause of the stampede.

As the community mourns the devastating loss, authorities continue to assess the situation and provide support to the affected families. The incident has sparked widespread concern, with further investigations underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the tragic stampede in Hathras.
