15-Year-Old Girl Suspected in Murder of Father and Brother Apprehended in Haridwar
A 15-year-old girl, implicated in the tragic murder of her father and eight-year-old brother in Madhya Pradesh, was detained by authorities in Haridwar after evading capture for over two months. The harrowing incident unfolded due to the alleged disapproval of her relationship with a 19-year-old man by her father. Reportedly, this disapproval led to a gruesome turn of events, resulting in the father’s demise, with the assistance of the 19-year-old, and the subsequent killing of her younger brother, who inadvertently stumbled upon the ghastly scene.
The chilling discovery was made on the morning of March 15, when law enforcement personnel, responding to concerns about the girl’s residence, found the home locked from the outside. Upon entry, they were met with a scene of horror – the lifeless body of the father sprawled on the floor, and the younger sibling tragically concealed within the refrigerator. The girl, who had been on the run since the incident, was apprehended alongside the 19-year-old in Haridwar, near the District Hospital, where they were acting suspiciously.
Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police, Parmendra Dobhal, provided insights into the unfolding investigation, stating that while the male accomplice managed to evade capture, the girl revealed her involvement in the murders during questioning. Authorities corroborated her confession with their counterparts in Jabalpur, confirming her status as a suspect. The male suspect, previously entangled in legal issues under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act due to a complaint filed by the girl, had served time in prison before being released on bail. CCTV footage implicated both individuals in the heinous act, dispelling initial suspicions of sole culpability on the part of the 19-year-old.
In the aftermath of the murders, the fugitives were sighted at Madan Mahal Railway Station before abandoning their vehicle and continuing their escape via autorickshaw to the bus stand. From there, they boarded a bus, endeavoring to flee Jabalpur. Coordination efforts between local authorities and those from Jabalpur are underway, with the girl slated to be handed over for further questioning and legal proceedings. The community remains stunned by the brutality of the crimes and awaits justice for the victims.
