Hyderabad Authorities Demolish N-Convention Centre Over Illegal Construction

In a significant enforcement action, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities have commenced the demolition of the N-Convention Centre, a major establishment owned by prominent actor Nagarjuna. The move follows long-standing allegations of illegal construction within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of the Thammidikunta Lake, located in the Madhapur area of the city.

The N-Convention Centre, which spans a 10-acre plot, has been scrutinized for encroaching upon approximately 1.12 acres of the FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the lake’s buffer zone. Official records from the North Tank Division’s executive engineer confirm that the FTL area of Thammidikunta Lake covers around 29.24 acres, and the establishment’s encroachment has been a subject of regulatory concern.

For years, the management of N-Convention has been accused of leveraging their influence to avoid regulatory actions from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other authorities. The demolition, which began early Saturday morning, was carried out by HYDRA officials with police support to ensure an orderly process and prevent any disruptions.
