BJP Criticizes Congress After Pakistani Leader Praises Rahul Gandhi, Sparks Election Controversy

In a recent political flare-up during the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has questioned the Congress party’s intentions after former Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Chaudhry, who served as the Minister for Information and Broadcasting in the Imran Khan cabinet, commended Gandhi for his remarks at the Ram Mandir inauguration event, questioning the inclusion of poor people. This incident has led the BJP to allege a suspicious connection between the Congress and Pakistan, intensifying the political battle.

Rashid Alvi of the Congress retaliated by claiming that Chaudhry’s comments were made under duress from the Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistani government, which allegedly has close ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Alvi suggested that the remarks were strategically released to benefit the BJP in the elections, implying that it was a manipulated effort to tarnish the Congress’s image.

Amid these accusations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Gujarat’s Anand, took a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that Pakistani leaders are eager to see him as India’s next Prime Minister. Modi highlighted the incident as proof of a deeper bond between Pakistan and the Congress, a claim that has been robustly refuted by the Congress party. The ongoing dispute underscores the heightened tensions and political stakes involved in the ongoing electoral process.
