BJP Denounces “Fake” Audio Clip in Anand, Seeks Police Investigation

In Anand, Gujarat, controversy erupted following the circulation of an audio clip on WhatsApp, allegedly featuring derogatory remarks against a community, shortly after BJP candidate Mitesh Patel filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha. The clip, said to involve a close aide and relative of Mitesh Patel, was swiftly condemned by local BJP officials. Anand District BJP President Rajesh Patel labeled the audio as “fake” and orchestrated by opponents intimidated by the substantial turnout at Mitesh’s nomination event.

Rajesh Patel, in a video statement, appealed to the public to dismiss the audio clip, asserting that it was a manipulative attempt to disrupt societal harmony. He emphasized that the values portrayed in the clip do not reflect the party’s ethos, which advocates for inclusivity and service over power. The BJP leader also highlighted that Mitesh Patel’s family had formally requested a police investigation to identify and reprimand the individuals responsible for the clip.

Amidst celebrations of Ram Navami, Rajesh Patel called for unity and vigilance against those aiming to sow discord. He reassured the community of the BJP’s commitment to fairness and urged people not to be swayed by divisive tactics. The local police have begun probing the matter, aiming to maintain peace and prevent further unrest.
