Case Filed Against Former Karnataka Deputy CM KS Eshwarappa for Provocative Speech

Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa faces a fresh case registered at Kote Police Station in Shimoga for allegedly delivering a provocative speech during a protest held at Mathura Paradise. The protest, organized against the arrest of Hindu spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh, has led to accusations of inflammatory rhetoric. This marks the second case against Eshwarappa within 20 days for similar allegations.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a prominent Hindu spiritual leader, was arrested at Dhaka airport on November 25 on sedition charges, allegedly for disrespecting Bangladesh’s national flag during a Hindu community rally. His arrest has sparked international outrage, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemning the move. A Bangladesh court deferred Das’ bail hearing to January 2, 2025, citing the absence of his defense lawyer, leaving him in jail until then.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to stage a blockade at the Basirhat border in West Bengal on December 10, led by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. The protest aims to demand an end to violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and advocate for the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das.
