Cloudburst In Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, Disaster Response Team Rushes In
In the wee hours of this morning, a cloudburst occurred in the Raipur block of the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Locals in the district’s Sarkhet village noticed the cloudburst at 2:45 a.m. After receiving information, the State Disaster Response Force, or SDRF team, sped to the area.
The emergency response team reported that “all the individuals trapped in the village were rescued while some took shelter in a resort nearby.””Due to the continuous torrential rains since yesterday, the Tamasa river flowing near the famous Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in Dehradun has taken a formidable form. Due to which the contact of Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Yoga Temple and Tapkeshwar Mahadev has been lost, the pool has also been damaged. Flash floods were also caused by heavy rainfall this morning at the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
The upward flow of pilgrims in the Mata Vaishno Devi temple was temporarily halted due to the severe rains and flash floods.
“Heavy rains have halted pilgrims from Katra from travelling higher to the Vaishno Devi temple. Pilgrims arriving from below are given preference. The situation is being watched. Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have already been deployed. There have been no documented negative events, “the Board of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
A cloudburst that hit Amarnath’s holy cave location earlier in July caused a heavy water discharge in the “Nallah,” which lies next to the holy cave. As a result, the road to Amarnath was damaged, and the yatra was put on hold for a while.
The Indian Air Force also sent four Mi-17V5 and four Cheetal helicopters to the Amarnath shrine to assist in rescue and relief operations.
On June 29, the Yatra set out from Jammu under the strict security measures put in place by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the army, and the local police.
