Cop Who Slapped Kangana Ranaut: “Can Lose 1,000 Jobs For Mother’s Respect”

Kulvinder Kaur, an airport security official, was suspended and arrested for allegedly slapping actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. In a defiant post on X (formerly Twitter), Kaur stated, “I am not afraid of losing this job… I am ready to lose thousands of such jobs for my mother’s respect.” The incident occurred at the airport while Ranaut was waiting to board a flight to Delhi. Kaur accused Ranaut of disrespecting farmers, citing a controversial 2020 remark made by the actor about the farmers’ protests against the Modi government’s farm laws.

Ranaut had previously posted a jibe on social media suggesting that farmers were protesting for a small amount of money, which sparked outrage. This protest was significant, involving nationwide agitation and causing political repercussions for the BJP in agrarian states. Ranaut claimed that Kaur hit her at the security check-in and used expletives, asserting that the security officer’s actions were a sign of rising terrorism in Punjab.

Footage of the incident went viral, though it did not capture the slap itself. Farmer groups, including the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, have called for a thorough investigation, highlighting the need for fairness in the inquiry. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and promised appropriate action.
