“Crew” Trailer Sparks Buzz: CBFC Demands Changes Over Tabu’s Bold Dialogues

The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming film “Crew” was released on Saturday, starring Kriti Sanon, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Tabu in lead roles. The film has been making headlines for its unapologetic portrayal of its characters, especially Tabu’s audacious role. However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has requested modifications to certain dialogues, particularly those involving explicit language used by Tabu’s character. Scenes and phrases deemed too bold for theatrical release have been altered, with cuss words being replaced with less offensive terms, aiming to maintain the film’s essence while adhering to the CBFC’s guidelines.

In specific instances highlighted from the trailer, Tabu’s use of explicit language has been toned down. For example, a dialogue where she says “Baith ch***ye” has been changed to “bhootiye”. Similarly, the term “ha***zada” has been altered to “ameerzada”, and “ha****iyon” has been switched to “kameeno”. These changes have sparked curiosity among fans, eager to see how these alterations will impact the film’s overall narrative and character portrayal.

“Crew” marks the first on-screen collaboration between Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, where they portray air hostesses entangled in a comedic yet risky side hustle. Directed by Rajesh Krishnan and produced by Rhea Kapoor, the film also features Diljit Dosanjh in a crucial role, with guest appearances by Kapil Sharma and Anil Kapoor. Set for a theatrical release on March 29, “Crew” has already garnered attention for its teasers and songs, promising a blend of comedy and drama.
