Delhi Police Clarifies No Arrest Made in ‘Vada Pav Girl’ Incident

Delhi police addressed concerns following a viral video showing Chandrika Dixit, famously known as the ‘Vada Pav Girl’, amidst a police intervention in Mangolpuri, outer Delhi. Authorities clarified that although Dixit was taken to the police station due to a large crowd at her food stall which caused a traffic disruption, she was not arrested, and no charges were filed against her.

The incident stemmed from a community feast organized by Dixit near her stall, leading to a massive gathering that impeded traffic flow. The police action followed multiple complaints from local residents about the congestion. Police officials stressed that the intervention was a safety measure and not an enforcement arrest.

Social media had been abuzz with speculation after the video depicted Dixit in what appeared to be police custody. However, the police have reassured the public that the situation was handled without any formal legal action against Dixit, aiming solely to manage the crowd and restore traffic order.
