Delhi Police Seeks to Serve Notice to CM Kejriwal Over Allegations of BJP’s Attempt to Buy AAP MLAs

In a recent development, the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch made another visit to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence today, aiming to serve a notice in connection with his claim that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to purchase Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. This follows previous attempts by the Crime Branch to serve notices to both Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi, which faced obstacles as officials at Kejriwal’s home refused acceptance and Atishi was not present at her residence.

The controversy stems from allegations made by the AAP, accusing the BJP of offering ₹25 crore each to seven AAP MLAs as part of an effort to destabilize the Kejriwal government. This accusation has led to a significant uproar, with Atishi dubbing the alleged BJP campaign as “Operation Lotus 2.0,” referencing the BJP’s symbol and its purported history of attempting to topple state governments.

Responding to the allegations, the Delhi BJP has dismissed them as false, with Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva asserting that the truth behind Kejriwal’s claims will soon be unveiled. The BJP’s complaint to the Delhi Police Commissioner has resulted in the current legal proceedings against Kejriwal, with the police seeking to personally deliver the notice to him amidst claims and counterclaims between the two parties.
