ED Team Visits Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s Residence in Money Laundering Probe

In a significant development, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team visited the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday. This action is part of an ongoing investigation into a money laundering case, as confirmed by official sources. The probe is believed to be linked to a recent deposition by the Chief Minister in an alleged land fraud case. On January 20, Soren was questioned by the ED at his official residence in Ranchi regarding these allegations.

The latest visit by the ED team comes after the agency issued a fresh summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren last week. The summons requested his availability for further questioning on either January 29 or January 31. This development indicates a deepening investigation into the Chief Minister’s alleged involvement in the case.

The money laundering investigation is centered around what the agency describes as a “huge racket of illegal change of ownership of land by the mafia” in Jharkhand. The ED’s intensified scrutiny of Hemant Soren signifies the agency’s commitment to unraveling the complexities of this case, which has significant implications for land ownership and governance in the state.
