Four Killed in Mysterious Blast in Sopore, J&K

Four individuals lost their lives following a mysterious blast in Sopore’s Shair colony on Monday afternoon. The explosion left the victims critically injured, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, three were pronounced dead on arrival. The fourth injured person, who was being transported to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar, succumbed to his injuries en route.

The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Nadroo, Azam Ashraf Mir, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Abdul Rashid Bhat, all residents of the Sopore area. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact nature of the explosion, as the cause remains unknown.

Historically, Sopore was a hotspot of separatist violence in the Kashmir Valley. However, the area has enjoyed peace over the past four years. Notably, it was also the political base of the late hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.
