The outfit is a key ingredient in describing our personality! The fashion technology has been developed into vast areas and the fashion designers plays an important role today’s world! India is rich in its varied heritage and so is in its fashion. Lets take a look into India’s most famous fashion designers.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee

Sabyasachi Mukherjee is an Indian fashion designer who came from a middle class Bengali family of Kolkata. He got graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology India. His unique contribution was the use of indigenous methods like bandhani, gotawork, block printing, hand dyeing etc. in construction of modern silhouettes. Sabyasachi’s  major contributions were based on Indian Bridal Wear collections.He is the only Indian designer to be invited to showcase at the Milan Fashion Week 2004.  He is described to be an essential fashion factor for the Bollywood. Best Designer of Hindustan at the MTV Lycra style awards, Society Achievers award for the best new Indian designer etc are some of the awards he received.

Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra is an Indian fashion designer from Mumbai. His label was launched in 2005.  In 1998, he started his designer store ‘Reverie – Manish Malhotra’. His first runway show was held in November 1999. In 2005, he launched his couture label MANISH MALHOTRA, which was mainly focused on bridal, couture, diffusion and men’s wear collections. He had received several prestigious awards including Filmfare Awards, Bollywood Movie Awards for costume designing, Zee Cine Awards, IIFA Awards, and lot more!

Ritu Kumar

Ritu Kumar who was born in Amritsar is a leading Indian fashion designer. She was married to Shashi Kumar, and then went on to accept a scholarship at Briarcliff College in New York. From there, she studied Art History. She began her fashion business in Kolkata and eventually she could enter the international market. She was awarded with  Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2013. Her main design concepts were based on natural fabrics and traditional printing and weaving techniques. Western elements were also included in her designs.

 Tarun Tahiliani

The leading Indian fashion designer, Tarun Tahiliani was born and brought up in Mumbai. With help of designer Rohit Khosla, Tarun Tahiliani and his wife Sailaja opened ‘Ensemble’ their first multi-designer boutique in India.
