Infosys Co-Founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, Former IISc Director Booked Under SC/ST Atrocities Act

An FIR has been registered against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram, and 16 others under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act. The case was filed at Sadashivnagar police station following directions from the 71st City Civil and Sessions Court.
The complaint was lodged by Durgappa, a former professor at IISc from the tribal Bovi community, who alleged he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case in 2014, leading to his dismissal. He further claimed to have faced caste-based abuse and threats during his tenure as a faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at IISc.
At the time of reporting, neither IISc faculty members nor Gopalakrishnan, who also serves as a member of the IISc Board of Trustees, had issued any statement regarding the allegations. Other accused include faculty members Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, and several others.
