Kangana Ranaut Declines to Perform at Private Events, Cites Integrity

In a recent Instagram story, acclaimed Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut expressed her stance on performing at private events, distinguishing herself from numerous film industry personalities who attended and performed at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. Citing the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar as her inspiration, Ranaut revealed that she, like Mangeshkar, has never accepted offers to perform as a hired entertainer at private functions. Highlighting her hit songs such as “Fashion ka Jalwa,” “Ghani Baawli Ho Gayi,” and “London Thumakda,” among others, Ranaut emphasized her decision to prioritize integrity over fame and money.

Ranaut’s statement comes amidst the grand pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which saw a galaxy of stars from the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Deepika Padukone, among others. The event also featured performances by international artists like Rihanna and Akon, marking a stark contrast to Ranaut’s personal and professional ethos. The actor criticized the culture of performing at weddings and private events, suggesting that such practices might lack dignity and character.

Kangana Ranaut’s refusal to engage in what she perceives as the commercialization of art forms an intriguing commentary on the values and choices that differentiate artists within the entertainment industry. By aligning herself with the revered Lata Mangeshkar’s principles, Ranaut calls for a new generation of artists to value integrity above the allure of wealth and temporary fame, posing a reflective question on the true worth of artistic expression.
