Kareena Kapoor Khan Faces Legal Challenge Over Book Title

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan following a petition challenging the title of her book, “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible.” The notice came after Jabalpur-based advocate Christopher Anthony objected to the use of the word “bible” in the book’s title, claiming it hurts the sentiments of the Christian community.

Anthony, who is also a social worker, alleges that the term “bible” should not be used in commercial contexts as it is a sacred text in Christianity, accusing Kapoor Khan of seeking “cheap publicity.” His legal actions began with a local police station, escalating to the courts after his request to file an FIR was declined. Subsequent rejections from a lower court and the Additional Sessions Court prompted him to approach the High Court.

The book in question, released in 2021, details Kapoor Khan’s personal pregnancy experiences and offers advice to expectant mothers. It includes expert tips on various aspects of pregnancy from diet and fitness to self-care and nursery preparation. Following the notice, the court has also issued summons to the sellers of the book, demanding an explanation for the controversial title usage.
