Political Controversy Erupts Over Pulwama Attack Comments

In a heated political exchange, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Congress party for allegedly siding with Pakistan regarding the 2019 Pulwama attack. He accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of questioning the bravery of the Indian military and the surgical strikes post-Pulwama, suggesting that Congress is indirectly aiding Pakistan’s defense on international platforms.

BJP leader Prakash Reddy joined the criticism, labeling Reddy’s statements as detrimental to national interest and demoralizing to India’s intelligence agencies. He stressed the irresponsibility of such remarks in the context of national security and intelligence operations.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy defended his comments by blaming the BJP-led government for its failure to prevent the Pulwama attack, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of politicizing the tragedy for electoral gain. The chief minister questioned the effectiveness of the intelligence services under Modi’s administration and expressed skepticism about the reality of the subsequent airstrikes. The political clash continues to stir significant debate on national security and political accountability in India.
