Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna and Father Accused of Sexual Harassment and Stalking
A disturbing case of alleged sexual harassment and stalking has come to light involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna and his father, former minister HD Revanna. A formal complaint was lodged by their cook at Holenarasipur police station, accusing the two of inappropriate conduct. The victim, reportedly a relative of Revanna’s wife, claimed that HD Revanna sexually harassed her, and his son Prajwal engaged in vulgar conversations via video calls with her daughter.
The case, filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including Assault or Criminal Force to Woman with Intent to Outrage Her Modesty, has prompted the involvement of the Karnataka government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on April 25, following the circulation of objectionable videos on social media linked to Prajwal Revanna. The SIT is to be led by IPS officer Vijay Kumar Singh, with DG CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar as members.
This scandal emerges as Prajwal Revanna seeks re-election in Hassan, running under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) banner against Congress’ Shreyas Patel. The allegations have shaken the local community and political landscape, prompting calls for thorough investigation and accountability.
