Kiabi Launches Kitchoun to Strengthen Diversification Strategy

French fashion retailer Kiabi has announced the launch of Kitchoun, a new children’s footwear brand, as part of its ambitious diversification strategy. The label, offering slippers, first-step shoes, and technical socks for babies and toddlers aged zero to three, expands the company’s own-brand ecosystem alongside Kiabi Kids and Kiabi Home, both introduced in 2024.

In a press release, the retailer highlighted that this initiative is part of its broader plan to develop specialized brand universes that align with the needs and lifestyles of modern families. Over the past few years, Kiabi has steadily expanded its ecosystem, including the integration of the second-hand platform Beebs by Kiabi, the rollout of Kidkanaï stores, and the creation of Kiabi Village, a hybrid retail concept.

The brand’s expansion is further fueled by strong financial momentum, with turnover reaching 2.5 billion euros in 2024, a 5% increase from the previous year. Building on this growth, Kiabi continues to expand its retail presence with new store openings, including a recent launch in Montesson, Yvelines, and several international openings planned for autumn 2025.
