L&T and KPMG Join Forces to Enhance Cybersecurity in India

In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity measures, the engineering services arm of infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has partnered with KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP. This collaboration aims to deliver cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions to enhance public safety and counter cyber threats more effectively. According to the companies, this initiative marks the first-of-its-kind program in India, focusing on the development of digitally interconnected, smart, and safe cities through comprehensive cyber security and digital forensic solutions.

The ambitious project involves the creation of an advanced cybersecurity system, along with a dedicated center for cyber security and cybercrime prevention. This initiative is poised to address cybercrime incidents and investigations comprehensively by leveraging state-of-the-art AI and digital forensic tools. Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of L&T, highlighted the significance of this partnership, underscoring the company’s vast experience in setting up command centers and the growing need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect the larger society.

Moreover, the collaboration will lead to the establishment of a Digital Threat Analytics Centre and a Centre of Excellence, equipped to tackle challenges such as deepfake detection, mobile malware, Internet of Things investigation, and network forensics. A Central Emergency Response Team will also be formed to ensure rapid incident response and investigation. The announcement has positively impacted L&T’s stock, which was trading 1.62 percent higher, reflecting investor confidence in the initiative’s potential to scale the company’s offerings globally.
