NCP Leader Supriya Sule Alleges Political Vendetta as ED Summons MLA in Money Laundering Probe

In a press statement outside the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) office in south Mumbai, NCP leader Supriya Sule accused the government of misusing central probe agencies, claiming that 95% of cases filed by these agencies are against leaders of opposition parties. Sule’s remarks followed the questioning of NCP MLA Rohit Pawar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning the alleged Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank scam. Sule asserted that the truth would ultimately prevail and framed the situation as a struggle for the pride of Maharashtra.

Sule further emphasized the significance of truth, stating, “Satyamev Jayate (truth shall prevail). This is a period of struggle for us. There will be challenges in the future, but we will overcome them.” She highlighted the recent state-wide ‘Sangharsh Yatra’ led by Rohit Pawar, addressing the issues faced by farmers and youth, and suggested that the summons to Pawar could be perceived as a political vendetta. When questioned about gathering party workers outside the NCP office, Sule clarified that it was not a show of strength but an expression of love and affection for Rohit Pawar.

The NCP working president affirmed their commitment to truth amid challenges, stating, “Challenges will come, and we will overcome them by being firm and committed to truth.” The allegations of political motives behind the ED summons add another layer to the ongoing political landscape, raising questions about the use of central probe agencies in cases involving opposition leaders.
