Odisha College Celebrates Droupadi Murmu’s Swearing-In As President

On Monday, the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences’ (KISS) students had a victory party to mark Droupadi Murmu’s election as India’s 15th president. 30,000 KISS students turned out in force to witness Ms. Murmu, the tribal chief of the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, take the oath of office. She holds the highest constitutional position in the nation for the first time as a woman from the community.

Given that her ordination falls on the same day as the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which commemorates 75 years of Indian freedom, its significance is increased.

The largest tribal university in the world, KISS, is associated with Ms. Murmu in many ways than just her campus visits. Ganesh Chandra Murmu, her son-in-law, attended the university. He played with the KISS Rugby Team, which was a part of KISS for more than 15 years, and they were the winners of the 2007 Junior Rugby World Cup in England. In addition to playing for the squad in South Africa, England, and South Korea, he established himself as a promising player.

In addition, the President’s son attended KIIT from 2003 to 2006. He met with an early death a few years ago. More than 30,000 ladoos were cooked and given on the campus to commemorate Ms. Murmu’s swearing-in event. Additionally, students from the President’s village helped to prepare the ladoos.

After taking part in the victory day festivities, the entire campus glowed with pride and joy. The group’s feelings were evident, and the atmosphere was upbeat. The students expressed their unwavering confidence in their ability to hold influential roles in the workforce.

Droupadi Murmu has surmounted numerous obstacles in her life to obtain a high-quality education because she has come to understand its significance. She has therefore sent her own children as well as numerous other kids from her hometown to KISS so they can pursue high-quality education and succeed in life. Droupadi Murmu has launched a number of socioeconomic projects to improve the lives of the indigenous populations. As President, she is expected to launch more programs for the tribal people, according to the students.
