PM Narendra Modi gets emotional as a girl shares her dream of becoming a doctor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi became emotional while listening to one of the attendees and his daughter during a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of the Utkarsh Samaroh initiative in Gujarat’s Bharuch on Thursday.

Modi asked Ayub Patel, whose vision began to deteriorate after a reaction to an eye drop he had taken many years ago while working in Saudi Arabia, if he was providing education to his daughters. Patel replied that all three of his daughters were enrolled in school, with two of them receiving government scholarships. Patel also stated that his eldest daughter, who is currently in class 12, aspires to be a doctor.

Modi then approached his daughter and asked why she wanted to study medicine, to which she replied, “I want to become a doctor because of the problem that my father is experiencing.”

Hearing her response, the prime minister became emotional and paused for a long time, overwhelmed with emotion and praising the girl for her bravery.

“Your strength is your compassion,” Modi said.

The prime minister then inquired about the family’s Eid and Ramzan celebrations. Modi also offered to assist the daughter with her medical education if she needed it in the future. He told Ayub, “You must realise their dream.”
