Rahul Gandhi Announces ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has revealed plans for a transformative journey, the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra,’ spanning 6,200 kilometers from Manipur to Mumbai. Scheduled to kick off on January 14 and conclude on March 20, just before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, this extensive yatra aims to connect the eastern and western parts of India. Covering 14 states and 85 districts, including Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, Gandhi’s journey will incorporate both bus rides and footmarches.

The yatra’s design emphasizes maximum accessibility to the public, intending to engage directly with the citizens of various regions. This initiative follows Mr. Gandhi’s previous ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ a five-month-long footmarch initiated from Kanyakumari and culminating in Srinagar last January. Notably, the earlier yatra was widely acknowledged by Congress leaders for its impact on the party’s electoral successes in Karnataka and Telangana earlier this year. The party’s victories in these states, where it ousted the BJP in Karnataka and BRS in Telangana, were attributed in part to the momentum generated by the extensive footmarch.

Rahul Gandhi’s forthcoming ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ is anticipated to be a significant political move, aiming to bolster the Congress Party’s presence and engagement across diverse regions of the country, potentially influencing the political landscape leading up to the impending Lok Sabha elections.
